I just completed my bachelor's degree at UC Berkeley in cognitive science; in other words, I have had the joy of warm winters for the past 3 years. I've been involved in neurodegenerative research (mainly Alzheimer's Disease and currently Parkinson's Disease) for the past 3 years and fell in love with teaching/mentoring for the past 6 years (even before I ever thought about pursuing medicine). I'm excited to meet you and look forward to helping you achieve your goals :)

Nick Thomson
BEng Aerospace Engineering with minor in Math, MASc in Aerospace, Carleton University
Hello! I have recently completed a master’s degree in aerospace engineering at Carleton University where I performed wind tunnel testing to better understand the noise created by airplanes. At the same time, I was a teaching assistant for courses such as aircraft design and for the 4th year gas turbine design project. As part of my undergrad, I completed a Co-op placement at Bombardier where I worked as part of the in-service engineering team on the Q400 aircraft.
I started my journey into aerospace engineering because a high school teacher of mine made a big impact on me about the importance of a strong foundation in maths and physics if you want a career in engineering. The strong foundation that I gained in those subjects helped carry me through my entire education and are a core reason that I am where I am now. I want to continue to share that passion and help future students achieve their goals in engineering and aviation related fields by sharing my knowledge and experiences. My goal with teaching is to help students understand how the subject they are being taught is useful for real world applications, and to give them that strong foundation to build upon so they can continue to learn new and exciting topics. I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge with you and helping to set you on a path to reach your loftiest goals!

Philip Brosseau-Patell
BSc, MEd Candidate, Physics & Math, University of Ottawa
Hi everyone! My name is Phil and I’m currently in teacher’s college at UOttawa to become a Math and Physics teacher for grades nine to twelve. My undergrad was in Mechanical Engineering from Western University. Having taught snowboarding all over Ontario and even in Banff, Alberta, I knew I’d get into the teaching profession at some point in my life. Building connections and helping students learn the fundamentals of different concepts has and always will be a great passion of mine. After some deliberation over the past year, I decided the time was right and 2022 was the year to start my professional teaching career. My teaching style is a guided approach to help students learn how and why to do certain methodologies so that when it comes to test time, they know what to do. I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with Go2Grad to help students achieves their academic goals!

Mahnaz Nazari
BSc, MSc, PhD candidate, Cellular and Molecular Medicine, University of Ottawa
I am a second-year Ph.D. student in the Cellular and Molecular Medicine program at Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) in Dr. Bernard Thebaud’s lab. I grew up in Tehran, Iran and in 2020 I graduated from Tabriz University of medical sciences where I spent 4 years pursuing a master's degree in the field of molecular hematology. Throughout the master’s program, I had the opportunity to work with some scientific communities in Iran to encourage students to pursue their dreams in the STEM field. Here in Canada, I wish to get back to the same environment where I can bring my experience to the Go2Grad team to help new students to unleash their potential in an efficient manner. Also, I could develop my teamwork skills, which means this platform would be a good place for me to grow.
